Visiting Students
|
Visiting students include:
- Students registered in a graduate degree program at another university or institution, who have permission from their home university and the University of Alberta department to take one or more UofA graduate courses for transfer of credit toward that degree program.
This includes students participating in either:
- the Western Deans' agreement
- other formal exchange agreements
See Visiting Student Exchanges.
- Students registered at another academic institution who intend to conduct research only at the UofA under the supervision of a UofA faculty member, but will not be taking UofA courses. See Research 900 for details.

Special Students
|
Special students are individuals not registered at another institution who wish to take graduate level UofA courses for credit without proceeding toward a graduate degree.
See Special Student Admissions.
