Establish Time Use/Research Guidelines
GRA/GTA Time Use Guidelines
At the start of term, the graduate assistant and the supervisor should meet to outline the work plan for the coming term.
The discussion should cover such issues as amount of time to be spent on various aspects of the assignment (grading papers, course preparation, research, etc). Below are sample formats for documenting teaching and research work plans.

The following example sets out specific terms for intellectual property, research materials, and publication. These terms do not fit the circumstances of every department, but they do provide an example.
Departments are encouraged to develop a standard agreement to stipulate appropriate terms. ![[Word Document]](~/media/Faculty of Graduate Studies/Images/Shared/smword.gif)
