Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowship
The Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowships are awarded to students registered full-time in a graduate degree program who hold eligible major master's-level scholarships. The value of the Fellowship is the equivalent of
tuition and fees as determined by the date of admission into a master's program at the University of Alberta.
Students will receive the full value of the Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowship if they hold the eligible award for both the Fall and Winter terms (September to April). Students will receive one-half of the fellowship value if they hold the eligible award for only one four-month term (Fall term or Winter term) of an academic year.

- Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship (NSERC CGSM)
- Julie Payette-NSERC Research Scholarship
- Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (SSHRC CGSM)
- Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship (CIHR CGSM)

How to Apply
- Recipients of eligible NSERC and SSHRC scholarships will be considered for the Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowship upon receipt of the NSERC/SSHRC Payment Activation form or the NSERC/SSHRC Progress Report in the FGSR. There is no application form.
- Recipients of eligible CIHR scholarships will be considered for the Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowship after submitting a copy of their Notification of Award to the FGSR. The Notification of Award must be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the start date of the eligible major award.
