Convocation

The University of Alberta holds two convocations each year:

-- Spring Convocation in June
-- Fall Convocation in November

Students must complete all the following steps before the graduate student convocation deadlines (at right) in order to convocate: 

1. apply for graduation using Bear Tracks
   

   Note:

   All applications for graduation are subject to review and approval by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. Applying to graduate on Bear Tracks does not guarantee convocation.

2. submit thesis for review and approval by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research
   • (Master's Thesis and Doctoral students only)
3. ensure the department has sent the appropriate program completion form to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research
4. pay outstanding fees
   • Parchments and other official documentation will not be released to students with outstanding accounts
